Charging while you rent
-
Use CCS fast chargers. In Salem: Electrify America at the Walmart on Lancaster Dr NE, and EVgo at the Pilot on Brooklake Rd (I-5 exit 263). Both go up to 350 kW, which is where this car shines.
-
Tesla Superchargers: the EV6 can use many of them with a Kia NACS adapter, paying in the Kia Access app or the Tesla app. It charges slower there (about 130 kW at most). Check your trip details in the Turo app to see if an adapter is in the car. Our guide explains how: Charging a non-Tesla at a Tesla Supercharger.
-
On road trips, stop at about 80%. The last 20% is the slowest part.
-
Charging costs and return battery level: check your trip details in the Turo app.

First-time EV6 tips
-
The key. The key is in a lockbox on the car. Check your trip details in the Turo app for how to open it. Keep the key with you while you drive.
-
Starting it. Foot on the brake, press the start button. Wait for "READY" on the dash.
-
Shifting. Use the round dial on the center console: turn it to D for Drive or R for Reverse, with your foot on the brake. Press P to Park.
-
Regen paddles. The paddles behind the steering wheel set how much the car slows itself when you lift off the accelerator. Left = more, right = less.
-
One-pedal driving (i-PEDAL). Pull the left paddle until you reach the strongest level (3), then pull it once more. "i-PEDAL" shows on the dash, and the car will slow to a stop when you lift off the accelerator. Pull the right paddle to turn it off.
-
No app needed. You don't need the Kia Connect app to drive or charge.
-
Pets welcome. Bring your dog along.
-
Returning it. Grab your things and follow the return steps in your trip details in the Turo app.
